A short history of us
In 1972, Léontine and Jean Fontalavie moved to this historic house to enjoy their retirement and spend time with their chidren and grand children. I was one of them - grand child that is. We used to visit them every summer and the memories of these holidays are always of a relaxing time with a sense of complete well being.
Jean and Léontine FontalavieMy Grandfather was an accomplished gardener and my grandmother a fine cook: 'Flognarde', 'mouillassoux' and 'tourtoux' were no secret to her but not a chance to extract her recipes as her reply would be: "take a little of that, add that, a pinch of that and in the oven". "For how long granny?" "Oh well, when it's cooked, it's ready!" At that time, we spoke with my gran to open a crêperie, but it never happened, however the idea was in me all these years. Fifteen to be precise, that I spent living in England. When I heard that the house was for sale in 2007, I jumped at this opportunity with my partner Simon to buy it to keep it in the family and transform it into a B&B.
Léontine and Jean were always warm and very welcomimg people. We will try to recreate this atmosphere of conviviality and tranquility by opening our house to you. Hoping that in the mean time, the charms of the surrouding areas, the fresh and pure air, the romantic sunset as well as the attractions offered in Corrèze all year round will delight you as much as it does us!
